ANNA GREENHOUS
Freelance Sake & Wine Journalist,
Researcher, Presenter & Educator
Anna works freelance in sake and wine, including writing regularly for Harpers (UK drinks trade magazine) and other food/drink, and Japan-related publications, presenting wine and sake tastings for L’Atelier des Chefs cookery schools, doing wine research work for Tim Atkin MW, IWC Sake judging, drinks PR, promotions and tasting event management.
Anna holds the WSET (Wine and Spirits Education Trust) Level 3 Certificate in Wine and Spirits with Distinction and is currently studying for the WSET Diploma. She also holds the WSET Level 3 in Sake, and is a qualified teacher.
Anna has been interested in wine since she was little, always keen to try whatever her parents were drinking. She became interested in sake after trying premium daiginjo-sake for the first time, researching a drinks' column for an ex-pat magazine in Japan. Surprised by the tropical fruit flavours weaned by the brewers from rice, she has been keen to spread the word ever since she returned to the U.K.
Interested in all drinks, she brews beer and makes infused spirits in her free time. Anna is also a keen traveler; having worked and lived in Japan, Syria and Nepal, she is always excited to learn about different cultures, food and drink!
Please do get in touch should you be interested to find out more about sake or wine.
Anna is also available to write about sake or wine, present tastings, do research, promotional work, consultation, and judging on a freelance basis.
